Every student who walks across that stage at your ceremony has faced obstacles and, with the help of your college, has succeeded. Take a moment to celebrate the wins. The Milwaukee Area Technical College Gap Year program, in partnership with NEWaukee, provides an alternative educational experience for high school graduates who are taking time off to work and save money, to figure out their future, or to plan how to best continue their education. AACC Commissions were established to provide advice to the AACC Board and staff, encourage collaboration among community college entities and organizations, provide leadership opportunities, provide a forum for focused conversation about the important community college issues and priorities, and more. Registration is now open for the Presidents Academy Summer Institute (PASI). Join us in Dana Point, California, July 9-12. PASI is an annual professional development program for CEOs and presidents of member community colleges, providing intensive focus on current challenges, emerging trends, and opportunities unique to that position. As a part of PASI, CEOs are encouraged to bring their spouses or partners. They will enjoy a special program that is free of charge (there is a charge for meals). Learn more and register here.
Apply to Be Part of the Metallica Scholars Initiative
AACC is partnering with Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation on the Metallica Scholars Initiative. This national effort will continue to promote and showcase career and technical education as a pathway to well-paying jobs. AACC is accepting proposals for Cohort 4. Up to 10 colleges will be selected. Applications are due May 27 at 5:00 p.m. (ET).
