An Invitation to Build What Comes Next

Dear Future Colleague

The American Association of Community Colleges is entering a consequential moment—for our association and for the institutions, students, and communities we serve. Community colleges are being called upon to accelerate economic mobility, meet rapidly changing workforce needs, strengthen civic life, and help communities navigate profound technological, demographic, and economic change. AACC must be built to lead in this moment.

We are searching for people who want to build—people devoted to the mission, uncompromisingly focused on a member experience that matters, and prepared to translate bold ideas into disciplined action and measurable impact.

The work requires intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, deep emotional intelligence, and focused effort. We seek colleagues who listen carefully, learn continuously, navigate complexity with maturity, and grow the capacity of those around them.

A MESSAGE FROM AACC's PRESIDENT & CEO

Most importantly, we want people who are unapologetic about the power and purpose of the nation’s community colleges. Our colleges create first opportunities and second chances. They educate millions of Americans, strengthen local economies, and remain indispensable to the nation’s prosperity and civic vitality. To work at AACC is to help advance that mission nationally.

Those who join us will become part of an outstanding team—talented professionals who care deeply about our members, take pride in their work, and have moved this association forward during a period of ambitious change. New colleagues will join a strong foundation and help expand what is possible.

Our expectations will be high because the mission deserves nothing less. Our support for one another will be equally high. If you believe community colleges are essential to America’s future—and you are ready to imagine boldly, execute rigorously, and serve generously—I invite you to consider joining us as we lead as a catalyst, convener, and community builder.

With purpose and anticipation,

DeRionne P. Pollard, Ph.D.
President and CEO
American Association of Community Colleges
