In addition to our Christmas trees and decorations, many of our institutions in the Northeast have had their first snowfall, which makes this time of year feel a little more like the holidays. While COVID-19 has forced us to modify our daily activities and minimize our contact with people outside of our immediate households, I am thankful that we can still find joy in the holidays. My wish for each of you is to have a safe and happy holiday season!

This fall, the community college sector saw a -10.1% drop in enrollments – or 540,200 fewer students – compared to fall 2019, due to the pandemic and resulting economic recession, according to a final report released today by the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) Research Center. You’ve asked and we have extended our deadlines on our AACC Live and Digital Meetings. The deadline for proposals for AACC Live is January 8, and for AACC Digital is January 15. Remember, even though we’re offering workshops at the Live meeting, if you have a presentation that fits under one of the workshop descriptions, submit it. To make the Digital submissions easier for you, we have removed the requirement to upload a video of the introduction of your presentation.
The 2021 Workforce Development Institute (WDI) is right around the corner and will be provided virtually on January 27-28. There is still time to register to participate. Visit the WDI website to get the most current information on the schedule, speakers, and registration fees.
