Natural disasters are something that community college leaders always prepare for while hoping they never happen. I have been in touch with LCTCS president Monty Sullivan, LCTCS board member Tim Hardy, and LSUE president Nancee Sorenson in Louisiana who are tracking Hurricane Francine’s trajectory and working to keep their students, faculty and staff safe while supporting the needs of their communities. We are also monitoring the situation as the storm heads north and stand ready to assist in any way we can.
“Faculty Chime in on Digital Resource, OER Use”

Now Accepting AACC Board of Directors Nominations
The call for nominations for consideration for the 2025 AACC Board of Directors slate is open. The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, October 7, at 5:00 p.m. (ET). Please submit all nominations via this form. All nominees must be CEOs in good standing with the association. The slate will be set upon approval of the AACC Board of Directors during its November 15 meeting. Those nominated but not selected by the committee may have their names added to the slate via the petition process. They must submit 50 letters of endorsement from AACC member CEOs by December 31. Do you have an amazing program at your college that deserves to be shared? AACC is now accepting abstract submissions for consideration for inclusion on the agenda for AACC 2025. The deadline to submit is October 16 at 4:59 p.m. (ET). AACC Annual will be held April 12-16 in Nashville, Tennessee.
It’s time to submit nominations for AACC awards. We are accepting nominations for the Awards of Excellence, Leadership Award (Hall of Fame), Leaders of the Year and Rising Stars, Outstanding Alumni, and Dale P.
