Interesting facts:
- ASU-Newport serves three communities. There are campuses located in Newport, Jonesboro and Marked Tree. This allows us to serve a variety of students with numerous niche programs.
- ASUN-Jonesboro partners with local industry through the Workforce Training Consortium to provide strategic training to new and current industry employees. This partnership also supports ASUN’s technical programs by allowing students to train with industry-style equipment and build relationships with industry partners.
- ASUN has a pilot program for high school students that allows them to graduate with workforce-ready credentials. IGNITE allows juniors and seniors in high school to get workforce-ready credentials and certificates in truck service maintenance, health professions and welding. Students who complete this two-year program will have gained the skills necessary to be successful in the workplace and post-secondary settings whether they choose to enter the workforce or continue their education.
