- Howard Community College has been named a “Great College to Work For” by the Chronicle of Higher Education for nine consecutive years, making it one of only three community colleges across the country to have been recognized for nine years in a row.
- To meet the growing demand for well-trained scientists, engineers, and cyber professionals, Howard Community College opened its Science, Engineering, and Technology Building in summer 2017. At approximately 145,300 gross square feet, the new building features innovative instructional spaces and modern advances in laboratory design to prepare students for the workforce or transfer to four-year universities. The building also houses the college’s cyber technology program, which has been designated by the NSA and Department of Homeland Security as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity Defense, and a National Center of Digital Forensics Academic Excellence by the Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center and the Academic Cyber Curriculum Alliance.
