t’s time! The AACC Annual Convention begins tomorrow. I know I say this every year, but I really believe this will be the best convention yet. There are hundreds of sessions, great speakers, and a lot of networking opportunities. Instead of the typical CEO to CEO Newsletter, I want to share with you a few of my “Must Do” convention items.
See you in Dallas!
Before You Go: Download the Convention App and Program
The AACC Convention app is available for download on your device. You can use the app to search for sessions and build your schedule. You can also view the convention program online.
While You’re There: Check Out New Programming
This year, we’ve got 15-minute Express Talk sessions speakers explore a single idea and illustrate practical tips through storytelling. CoLABoration sessions highlight partnerships that are working to increase student retention and success. Also, AACC staff will be podcasting live in the exhibit hall on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Stop by the AACC booth to listen in!
Don’t Miss Out: Super Spotlight Session on Expanded Apprenticeships
On Sunday morning, join us at 8:00 a.m. to discuss how we can position colleges for expanded apprenticeships. I’ll be talking with Labor Secretary Alex Acosta regarding the Trump administration’s goals for workforce development. We’ll also hear from a few community college leaders about how they have implemented work-based learning opportunities at their colleges.
Get There Early: Spotlight Session on Onboarding and Presidential Transitions
AACC and ACCT are partnering on a Spotlight Session about successful onboarding and presidential transitions. At the session, we’ll be releasing a new monograph on the topic. The session takes place Monday, April 30 at 9:15 a.m. in Grand Ballroom B.
