Houston Community College Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence is proud to be a registered apprenticeship center through the Department of Labor. We have established a successful program that fosters business partner relationships while providing a tremendous opportunity for our student apprentices.
We are committed to providing high-quality and innovative training and education to enhance workforce development in the manufacturing industry. The apprenticeship model brings together community colleges and employers and can quickly and effectively build a manufacturing workforce for the future.
We seek companies that are known for their growth and success in their industry areas. We ask them to meet with us and other businesses to discuss concerns and needs they face and visions for their futures. We are then able to offer solutions to meet their needs and show them the value of a business-college collaboration. We can customize training to meet the needs of every business.
We gain the trust of these businesses by forging an honest and transparent relationship. We give personal tours at our center for them to see first-hand what we are currently offering, how we simulate their industries, and share our own vision for the future.
During this unprecedented pandemic, we have successfully been able to maintain our business partnerships. We continue to share the resumes of our students who have successfully completed the lectures and the hands-on trainings. With a steady stream of new apprentices going through our program, employers have continued access to new talent. We have also gained a lot of exposure from businesses sharing our program information with other businesses.
With the outstanding leadership and support of our Houston Community College chancellor, president, and dean, along with the dedication of our industry trained instructors, we have successfully made our program work. We have proven that we can meet the needs of our industry partners and help make their businesses grow. We appreciate their trust in us and we look forward to continuing this important and necessary endeavor.
