Event Code of Conduct
The American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) seeks to foster a welcoming and intellectually stimulating experience for all participants. We expect all conference participants, presenters, vendors, employees, and staff to recognize that while this event is a place for the open exchange of opinions by diverse individuals, respect and inclusivity for all is expected. In furtherance of this purpose, any behavior, whether personal or professional, that is unwelcome and offensive, or shows disrespect or aggression will not be tolerated.
Participants, presenters, vendors, employees, and staff are strongly encouraged to be alert to, and report to AACC staff any behavior inconsistent with this Code of Conduct. If anyone is made to feel unsafe or unwelcome or observes someone else’s situational discomfort, that situation should be immediately reported to an AACC staff member, who can be identified by the blue ribbon on their name badge. If an AACC staff member cannot be located, Mary E. Heiss, Senior Vice President, Academic and Student Affairs, AACC, should be contacted at mheiss@aacc.nche.edu or by calling 703.835.7857.
Persons determined by AACC to have engaged in unacceptable behavior may be excluded from further participation and may be required to depart the venue. Please note that a person so removed will not be entitled to any refund of participation fees.
Thank you for helping to make this a welcoming and professionally valuable event for all.
