Last week at AACC’s Workforce Development Institute, session speakers reiterated the need for personalized supports for students. There is no one-size-fits-all model when it comes to meeting students’ needs. But every approach taken needs to start the same way—with listening. It doesn’t help students when we make assumptions. It is, after all, their college and their experience, so take your cues from them and lead them to success.

More older students are starting or restarting their education at Grand Rapids Community College, with enrollment for ages 30 and older 14% above pre-pandemic levels, as adult learners take advantage of state tuition-free programs. Learn more in this AACC 21st Century Center blog post.
