I hope your Thanksgiving was restful!
It was an eventful week on Capitol Hill. A bipartisan plan from leaders on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee would simplify the federal student aid application process and reduce the number of students who go through the dreaded “verification” process. It would also streamline income-driven student loan repayments, and make permanent $255 million in annual funding for HBCUs and other minority-serving institutions. This legislation would remove some of the barriers to access and success for students. We look forward to doing what we can to help advance this legislation.
