DeRionne Pollard is President and CEO of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), where she strengthens and mobilizes America’s community colleges as engines of equitable opportunity, economic mobility and civic vitality. Since taking the helm, she has championed community colleges as essential drivers of talent development, guiding the association’s Strategic Compass 2035 and hosting Talking About Talent. A nationally recognized leader, she previously served as president of Nevada State University, Montgomery College in Maryland, and Las Positas College in California. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in English from Iowa State University and a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy studies in higher education from Loyola University Chicago.
