Thanks to the generous support of Levi Strauss & Co, in 2024 National Voter Registration Day will award Community Partner grants to support National Voter Registration Day events held by eligible community colleges across the country on September 17!
2024 presents a critical opportunity to engage and mobilize voters, particularly young people and college-aged students, who play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our nation. Community colleges serve as important hubs of civic engagement, providing students with the knowledge, skills, and resources to actively participate in the democratic process.
Grant Criteria
Eligibility for these grants is limited to community colleges or community college-based organizations who plan to host one or more in-person voter registration event(s) on community college campuses as part of National Voter Registration Day on September 17, 2024. Specifically this grant program seeks to fund innovative projects and initiatives that:
-
Are submitted by accredited community colleges that sign up as 2024 National Voter Registration Day Community Partners
-
Promote National Voter Registration Day both digitally and with print assets (posters, fliers, etc.) from at least August 15 – September 17th
-
Increase voter registration, engagement, and turnout among students at community colleges
-
Foster a culture of civic engagement and active political participation on campus
-
Implement creative strategies to reach and engage underrepresented students, including minority, low-income, and first-generation college students
-
Collaborate with other Community Partners, state and/or local election officials, and other organizations to amplify voter registration info and resources
Proposal Submission:
Community colleges are invited to submit proposals outlining their plans to achieve these objectives. Proposals should include a detailed project plan, budget, timeline, and anticipated outcomes. Grants will range from $1,000 to $5,000 and will be awarded based on the quality and feasibility of proposed projects.
Deadlines:
The deadline for submitting grant proposals is May 30th at 11:59pm. Proposals must be received by this deadline to be considered for funding. Late submissions will not be accepted. Applicants are encouraged to review the grant guidelines and submit their proposals well in advance of the deadline to ensure sufficient time for review and consideration.
