47%: Veterans in studying at Community Colleges

Nearly half of all military veterans enrolled in college attend a community college. Among other benefits, veterans can often use credit for prior learning from their miliary experience to accelerate their degree completion. Some community colleges have dedicated veterans services or spaces, attending to the unique needs of current and former service members. With support from the federal government, through programs like TRIO Veterans Upward Bound, community colleges work to scale veteran-focused student services and supports.
