The summit was designed to broaden equity and access in STEM by sharing the promising practices and resources of NSF’s Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program with a focus on strengthening STEM technician education programs at minority-serving institutions (MSIs), rural colleges, and community colleges new to the NSF ATE program.
AACC engaged 15 community college faculty and administrator teams to learn first‐hand of the NSF funding opportunities and ATE program resources that are being successfully used to recruit and retain underrepresented students, increase STEM completion rates, and prepare students to meet national STEM workforce needs. The event also included the opportunity for the college teams to participate in the 2018 National ATE Conference to further network and engage directly with the ATE community.
AACC developed a opens in a new windowproceedings and resource report opens PDF file from the event. The report summarizes the rich discussions that occurred during the summit.
