AACC is proud to help community colleges raise awareness of and support for their food pantries.
Tips for Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday is December 3. We’ve put together a few tips and tools to help you reach the most potential donors.
Links to Use
Remember to use the following links in your posts to drive traffic to the fundraiser:
- Link to the AACC Giving Tuesday fundraiser page: https://www.spotfund.com/teams/aacc
- From this page https://www.spotfund.com/teams/aacc, you can click on your college’s unique fundraising page and click SHARE to get your individual college’s page URL.
Start planning early.
Though Giving Tuesday is only one day, bring awareness to your campaign early. Start thinking about all the aspects of your campaign:
- How to tell your story: Who will you feature? What images can you use? What data can you share? Can you share your story with the press?
- Email campaign: Write your email copy early. Will you have different messages for different email lists (campus vs. community/donors)?
- Social media campaign: Gather images early for Facebook and X/Twitter. Think about creating video stories for platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Your messages should vary depending on each platform.
- Rally your ambassadors: Who will use their own platform/connections to amplify your message? Reach out to those people before Giving Tuesday and ask them to help share your campaign.
Social Media
Things to think about:
- Keep messages short and specific. Be sure to link to the fundraiser page.
- Think about who can amplify your message. Do you have community partners or ambassadors who will agree to re-post or share your message on social media? Tag them on your post.
- Please tag AACC and we will share! Use @comm_college on X, @CommCollege on Facebook, and @aacccommcolleges on Instagram.
- Don’t forget the hashtag. Use #GivingTuesday.
