POSITION: President of SUNY Broome Community College since 2010. The college’s main campus is located in Binghamton, New York, with branch facilities located in downtown Binghamton and Owego.
PREVIOUS POSITIONS: President of Northern Wyoming Community College District with colleges in Sheridan and Gillette, Wyoming; vice president for student, enrollment and public services at Springfield Technical Community College in Massachusetts; and vice president for then merged Manchester and Stratham Community Colleges in southern New Hampshire. Prior to serving in New Hampshire, Dr. Drumm held a number of positions in both student and academic affairs at colleges in Maine and Massachusetts.
AFFILIATIONS: Currently serves on the board executive committee of the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce and the boards of Lourdes Hospital, Broome County Health Department, Baden-Powell Boy Scout Council, and the newly merged NYPENN Campus Compact as chair-elect. He was twice elected to the AACC Presidents Academy Executive Committee. He was a founder of the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE), serving as chair of the charter 501c(3) board of directors. He has also served on the AACC Rural Roundtable and the Implementation Task Force for the AACC 21st-Century Strategic Plan.
EDUCATION: Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from New York University, B.S. and M.Ed. in Education from Boston University, and an A.A. from Berkshire Community College. He also holds an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Nova Southeastern University.
OTHER: Author of several book chapters and refereed journal articles, as well as dozens of monographs for various publications, most recently authoring book chapters on civic engagement and building college towns. He has presented more than 30 programs and served on several panels at national education conferences since 1988. He was recently named Civic Leader of the Year by the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce.
