POSITION: Since 2012, served as the President of Laramie County Community College, Wyoming’s largest college. LCCC, is an innovative, comprehensive college with a main campus located in the state capital of Cheyenne, a branch campus in Laramie and two outreach sites.
PREVIOUS: Spent a decade at Great Falls College of Montana State University, serving in a variety of roles including Director of Outreach, Assistant Dean of Outreach and Workforce Development, and Chief Academic Officer. At the age of 34, he was appointed the campus’ Chief Executive Officer, making him one of the youngest college CEOs in the nation at the time.
AFFILIATIONS: Served on AACC’s Commission on Research, Technology and Emerging Trends, and currently serves on AACC’s Presidents Academy Executive Committee. Sits on the executive committee of the Western Interstate Commission on Higher Education’s Alliance of Community College Academic Leaders and holds leadership positions on the boards of various other community and business organizations, including currently serving as the Chairman of the Board of Cheyenne LEADS, Cheyenne’s economic development authority.
EDUCATION: Associates of Arts degree from Bemidji State University, a Bachelor of Science from The University of Montana, his Masters of Science in Technical Communication from Montana Tech, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from The University of Montana. Graduate of AACC’s Future Leaders Institute (FLI).
OTHER: Worked in non-profit, municipal, and private industry, including owning and operating a successful Internet consulting and design firm. Lectures, presents, and writes on a variety of topics, but his passion is learning and sharing about surviving change, leadership, leadership development, economic development and educational policy. Been on the faculty for AACC’s FLI, Future President’s Institute and High Performance Team training.
