Yesterday marked the end of AACC Digital. I was so pleased to recognize our Awards of Excellence finalists and announce the winners. Congratulations to the winning colleges and thank you for all the hard work you do! You can read about the awards here.
Also, thank you to everyone who helped make AACC Digital a success. We’ll be back in person next year for the AACC convention. We look forward to seeing you in New York, April 29 to May 3, 2022.
Finally, I’d like to congratulate AACC board member and San Antonio College President Robert Vela for leading his college to win the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.

“Strong Public Support for Community Colleges Continues”
Eight of 10 Americans (79%) say community colleges are worth the cost — the most support among any higher education sector, according to a New America survey. Furthermore, 83% of survey participants said they strongly/somewhat agree that public community colleges contribute to a strong U.S. workforce. Read more findings in this CC Daily article.

Apply by Monday to Serve on an AACC Commission
There are nine commissions authorized by the AACC Board. These commissions provide a forum for focused conversation about the important community college issues and priorities of the day, among other things.You can apply now to serve on one of these commissions. The deadline for applications is Monday, May 31 at 5:00 p.m. (ET).
The MentorLinks: Advancing Technological Education program, supported by the National Science Foundation, is designed to help colleges develop or strengthen technician training programs in STEM fields through mentoring, professional development opportunities, and technical assistance. AACC is pleased to announce Requests for Proposals for MentorLinks Colleges and MentorLinks Mentors for the 2021-2023 cohort. The deadline to apply is June 24, 2021. Learn more here.
