DOL Announces Round 2 of TAACCCT Grants

9/19/2012

U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis, speaking at St. Petersburg College in Florida, today announced most of the winners in the second round of the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training Program (TAACCCT), which awards $500 million each year to institutional initiatives to train TAA-certified and other workers for new jobs. In all, 27 awards to consortia totaling just over $359 million and 27 awards to individual institutions totaling $78 million were announced today. The remaining funds will go to individual institutions in the 25 remaining states and territories for grants of $2.5 million each. The Department of Labor is working with each of these states to develop qualifying projects. 297 institutions will receive grants either as lead institutions or members of consortia.
