The President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll program for 2007 is now underway. The Honor Roll recognizes colleges and universities for their encouragement and support for noteworthy student community service and service learning efforts.
A total of 492 institutions of higher education were recognized on the first Honor Roll in 2006, including 66 community and technical colleges.
The new web-based and user-friendly Honor Roll application is now available on Learn and Serve America's website, www.nationalservice.gov/honorroll, along with detailed information about this year's Honor Roll program.
The application deadline has been extended to October 10, 2007. Data reported in the application are for the period July 1, 2006, through June 30, 2007. All accredited, degree-granting colleges and universities in the U.S. are eligible to apply. Previous Honor Roll members and Presidential Award winners are welcome to apply again.
Honor Roll members will be announced and the Honor Roll awards ceremony will be held during the annual conference of the American Council on Education (ACE) in February 2008 in San Diego, California.
