Getting to and around Seattle

Airport:

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac) is about 18 miles south of downtown Seattle.

  • Click here to download a guide to airline fees (PDF).

From the Airport:

Cabs (STITA)

  • Available on the third floor of the Parking Garage. Sedans, station wagons and large vans are available.  All Seattle cabs run on natural gas.
  • Call (206) 246-9999, or use the curbside phones on Baggage Claim Level.
  • Expect to pay a fare of around $45.00 for a one-way transfer from the airport to downtown Seattle. There is a flat fee from downtown Seattle back to the airport of $32.00

Gray Line Downtown Airporter Shuttle

The Downtown Airporter Shuttle is the least expensive way to travel between Sea-Tac and downtown Seattle. Similar in concept to the SuperShuttle van, the Downtown Airporter is a passenger bus that services most of the downtown hotels. The shuttle services all of the AACC Convention hotels.

  • Downtown Airporter tickets can be purchased from: airporter drivers; most downtown Seattle hotel concierge; online; and at the Airporter Desk at Sea-Tac Airport.
  • The Downtown Airporter Desk is located at the south end of the main terminal in the atrium. Follow the signs to Scheduled Airporter Services, Door 00, just past baggage carousel 1.
  • Fares:
    • Adults: One Way $11.00; Roundtrip $18.00
    • Children (2-12 years): One Way $8.25; Roundtrip $13.00
    • Children less than 2 years travel for free

Around Town:

Downtown Seattle is very walkable and offers a variety of transportation options including the city bus and the monorail. King County Metro operates an extensive bus system around downtown and in surrounding neighborhoods. The bus tunnel runs between the international district and the convention center and is one of the easiest and quickest ways to travel through downtown. You can ride free through much of downtown and in the bus tunnel from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Call Metro at 206-553-3000 for schedule and fare. The Monorail travels back and forth between the Seattle Center and downtown shopping at Westlake Center (5th and Pine). Call 206-441-6038 for schedule and fare.
