General Convention Questions

When and where is the 2015 AACC Annual Convention being held?

The 2015 AACC Annual Convention will be held in San Antonio, Texas.   

What is the dress code for the convention?

Business dress is suitable for all sessions. We recommend bringing a light sweater or jacket as the meeting rooms are air conditioned.

Monday evening’s Awards of Excellence Gala is black tie optional.

What is the weather like in San Antonio during the meeting dates?

The month of April is characterized by rising daily high temperatures, with daily highs increasing from 78°F to 85°F over the course of the month, exceeding 93°F or dropping below 69°F only one day in ten.

Is there accessibility for persons with disabilities?

Yes.

This is my first time attending AACC’s Annual Convention. What can I expect?

Outside of having the opportunity to explore the great city of San Antonio, Texas, you can expect to learn about various strategies, plans, and tactics that industry professionals have used to help community colleges thrive. The focus of this year’s convention is "The Next Big Things." Overall, AACC's Annual Convention offers you professional development as well as the opportunity to network, share, and learn from professionals in the fields of education, business and industry, and government. Our exhibit hall offers a variety of services and products to bring innovation to your campus and students.

Do I have to register for the conference to enter the exhibit hall?

Yes, you must have a convention badge to enter the AACC Exhibit Hall at all times during the Convention including the Grand Opening Reception.

Registration Questions

How do I register?

Registration can be completed online, by fax, or by mail.

What are the registration rates?

The registration rates for the annual convention are listed on the Registration page. All member and non–member rates include access to all concurrent sessions, the exhibit hall, the opening session, and meal events.

Can I bring my spouse?

Yes, you can bring your spouse.  If your spouse does not wish to attend any convention events, they do not need to register.

If your spouse would like to attend the meal events only, you may puchase an extra ticket when you register yourself.

If your spouse plans to attend convention sessions and events the spouse registration rate for members is $400. If you are a non-member, the spouse registration rate is $450. Both member and non-member spouse rates include access to all concurrent sessions, the exhibit hall, the opening session, and meal events.

What meals are included with the registration rate?

The member, non-member, and spouse/guest registration rates include the following meals:

  • Hail and Farewell Luncheon - Sunday, April 19, 2015
  • Awards of Excellene Gala Dinner - Monday, April 20, 2015
  • Outstanding Alumni Brunch - Tuesday, April 21, 2015

The day registration rate for Sunday includes the following meal:

  • Hail and Farewell Luncheon - Sunday, April 19, 2015

The graduate student and onsite registration rates, and the day registration rate for Monday do not include tickets for meals. Meal tickets can be purchased separately in advance.

I'm unable to register online. Who can I contact?

When does early bird registration end?

Early bird registration ends January 23, 2015.

When does registration end?

Registration (online and mail) will close on March 13, 2015.

Will onsite registration be available?

Onsite registration will be available and is $950 per person. Onsite registration includes access to all concurrent sessions, the exhibit hall, and the opening session. Meal tickets may or may not be available onsite.

If I can't attend the entire convention, what are the registration options?

You can take advantage of our day rates.

The Sunday day rate includes access to all concurrent sessions, the exhibit hall and the Hail & Farewell Luncheon.

The Monday day rate includes access to all concurrent sessions and the exhibit hall.

Sunday Day Rate (member): $450
Sunday Day Rate (non-member): $500
Monday Day Rate (member): $350
Monday Day Rate (non-member): $400

Two day rates cannot be combined.

Cancellations

I need to cancel my registration. What should I do?

Hotel Questions

Which hotel will be the headquarter hotel for the 2015 AACC Annual Convention?

The headquarters hotel of the AACC 2015 Annual Convention is the Grand Hyatt San Antonio. All convention programming will take place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

How can I make a hotel reservation and what are the rates?

Reservations can be made online or by phone. To reserve by phone, call 1-877-212-5752 and reference “AACC 2014 Convention.” To reserve online, visit the Hotel and Travel web page and follow the booking instructions.

Will I have wireless internet access in the hotel?

Wireless internet service is available throughout the Grand Hyatt hotel. Complimentary wireless service is available in the lobby and all public areas.

Is there a business center at the Grand Hyatt hotel?

There is an onsite business center in the hotel with computer and printer access.  There is a FedEx center that provides copy services, fax services, messenger services, network/internet printing, and mailing/shipping services, and is available to all guests of the hotel.

What are the convention overflow hotels?

The 2015 will be using several overflow hotels.

To make a reservation visit the Hotel and Travel page on the AACC Convention website and follow the booking instructions under the heading Book a Room at an Overflow Hotel.

Transportation and Travel Questions

What are my transportation options for the 2015 AACC Annual Convention?

Visit the Transportation page for details.

Will non-stop shuttle service be provided between the hotels and the convention center?

Shuttles are scheduled to support event programing and drop off at the Center or Grand Hyatt Hotel. They pick up from the following Hotels: Westin Riverwalk, Hotel Contessa, Hyatt Regency and the Grand Hyatt Hotels.

Expected pick up is 20-30 minutes. Please note that times may change based on road closures due to Fiesta. Please consult with uniformed shuttle managers posted at each hotel.

No shuttles are offered from the Marriot Rivewalk Hotel or the Hilton Palacio Del Rio.
