I'd like to announce an exciting opportunity for community college educators to participate in a week-long workshop entitled Genomic Approaches in BioSciences. Workshop participants will utilize cutting-edge science tools in hands-on laboratories and bioinformatics investigations, in order to deepen awareness of rewarding careers for their students. Participants be given up to date pedagogy and given the opportunity to networking with biotech leaders and colleagues from around the country. The workshop will be held at Bluegrass Community and Technical College.
The National Science Foundation, Division of Undergraduate Education’s Advanced Technological Education (NSF-ATE) program is funding all instruction, workshop materials, meals/refreshments, and a stipend of $300. The workshop is held in collaboration with the renowned DNA Learning Center at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York, home base of James Watson, the Nobel Prize winner for discovering the structure of DNA.
