 Crew Member Security Defense Training

Administered by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Office of Law Enforcement/Federal Air Marshal Service and coordinated by the AACC Workforce and Economic Development unit, the Crew Member Self Defense Training (CMSDT) program was available to all actively employed or temporarily furloughed crew members from U.S. commercial and cargo air carriers. The program was delivered at more than 20 sites nationwide, both at community college and sponsored airline training facility locations throughout the country.

CMSDT was delivered in two parts. First, the participating crew member were provided a self-paced, interactive DVD and student manual designed to familiarize them with self-defense concepts and techniques. After completing the review, the crew member attended a 1-day "hands-on" training program conducted at participating community colleges around the country. CMSDT, provided at no cost to qualified crew members, may be repeated as often as they would like.
