The demand for energy efficiency and renewable energies will grow substantially in the coming years, and with it will grow economic opportunities and jobs. A skilled workforce and educated public are crucial components.
Given community colleges' inherent role in sustainable development, and as industry-responsive institutions, our colleges will be one of the most influential and impactful sectors of America in leading the way to this burgeoning, new clean energy economy.
About SEED
Sustainability Education & Economic Development (SEED) is a leadership initiative and resource center created by the American Association of Community Colleges that will provide strategic guidance and detailed resources for community colleges to reduce campus pollution while also preparing students and workers for high-growth careers in the emerging green economy.
The SEED Center
Launching on October 10, 2010, the SEED Center is an online resource center of FREE RESOURCES, including curricula material, promising practices, and other information, to help colleges build quality green job training programs. It will also be an opportunity for colleges to share their own green information and interact with peers. Check back on October 10, 2010 for the SEED Center link!
SEED is supported through a generous grant provided by the Kresge Foundation.
