 International Education Week

International Education Week (IEW) 2013 is November 12–22. This year's theme is "International Education Takes You Places." AACC believes that international education is a quintessential element in the success of community college students and is an integral part of a quality higher education experience. U.S. community colleges play an important role in the global higher education community.

  • Students that have studied abroad
  • Distinguished alumni, faculty and staff that are globally engaged or have notable life stories in which international education plays a key role

Help AACC to highlight the important role of community colleges in the global higher education community during IEW 2013. AACC will showcase your activities and the achievements of your college and its students, faculty and alumni on our website and via social media. The information that is posted will be chosen from the submissions that we receive.

If you are a U.S. community college administrator, faculty, or student, e-mail a one paragraph submission (3-5 sentences) to and check AACC's website, Facebook page, and Twitter account during IEW 2013 to see if your submission has been chosen for posting. Make sure to indicate the name of your community college and its state.

Annual IEW Staff Luncheon

On Wednesday, November 13, 2013, AACC held its Annual IEW Staff Luncheon. Both UDC Community College (DC) and Howard Community College (MD) joined us in our office and each brought one of their students who had studied abroad to participate in an informative and highly educational discussion focused on the IEW 2013 theme: International Education Takes You Places. Special thanks to everyone.
