AACC and IIE offer an annual workshop on study abroad at community colleges. The workshop is for international administrators at community colleges who were looking for ideas to grow their international programs and to promote study abroad on their campuses. Past topics have included best practices, funding opportunities, strategies to encourage students to study abroad, building institutional support for study abroad, and an analysis of the latest data trends in study abroad.
The community college winners of the prestigious
Andrew Heiskell Awards For Innovation in International Education are recognized and provided an opportunity to speak at the workshop. (In 2008, IIE in cooperation with AACC created a new award category for community colleges.) AACC strongly encourages its member colleges to self-nominate their institutions for this award.
