AACC Grants
March 5, 2010 -- AACC is pleased to announce a national grant competition for its Community Colleges Broadening Horizons through Service Learning project. AACC will award eight one-year grants of $3,000 each to community colleges for service learning projects in new media/Web 2.0 strategies or environmental education. Matching funds of $3,000 are required. Colleges will receive training and technical assistance from experienced service learning mentors. This initiative is supported by the Learn and Serve America program of the Corporation for National and Community Service. Applications are due April 9, 2010; the funding period is July 1, 2010, through June 30, 2011. Please refer to the following documents:
Other Grants
Feb. 24, 2010 -- The Corporation for National and Community Service has announced the availability of new Learn and Serve America Higher Education grants. Funding will support institutions of higher education that use innovative service learning programming to meet the needs of local communities and foster lifelong civic engagement among students. Grant awards will be made up to $200,000 annually for nine individual institutions, and up to $500,000 annually for 11 higher education consortia. Grants must focus on service learning in either teacher training or STEM disciplines. Applications are due March 9, 2010; visit the Learn and Serve America Web site for details.
