Program Description

YMOC is a program designed to assist male students of color to improve their retention, academic status, and community engagement through a variety of support services.

The program was initiated through discussion of concerned students and staff who wanted to address the increasing failure, probation and suspension rate of male students of color.

Program Funded

The program has received an initial grant from the Boston Foundation.

College President and Administrators Involvement

The college president has been a prime supporter of this program along with other administrative staff.

Program Success Story

The program has been able to retain all of the students originally enrolled. Their  GPA's, credits earned, attendance, and academic status are all significantly improved from a blind group which shared the same program criteria.
