Program Initiated

This pilot program began as an initiative out of the Vice President for Student Services office in 2016 in hope of increasing the high school graduation and college enrollment rates for historically underrepresented men.

Program Funded

The program is funded through donations and institutional dollars. Multiple attempts at different grants have been and will continue to be made to further develop and expand the program.

College President and Administrators Involvement

The TMCC president and other administrators are involved in this program through the Men of Color Summit and End of the Year Celebration where we bring participants up to our campus for a day full of tours, motivational speakers, career exploration, and student/staff testimonials.

Program Success Story

One of the participants was accepted the colleges dual credit high school, where he will have the opportunity to graduate with his associate degree and high school diploma at the same time. He is a stellar example of a dedicated young man. He volunteers at the local boys and girls club and wants to become a SWAT commander after college.
