 Hotel and Travel 

HOTEL RESERVATIONS

Note on Reservations: The Omni Shoreham Hotel and the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel are now sold out.  If you are in need of hotel reservations, you can search for rooms in the Dupont Circle or Woodley Park areas of D.C. at www.hotels.com

If your room is to be covered by the conference for two nights, we will reimburse you up to the conference rate of $244 per night.  Hotel reimbursement forms will be available at the conference registration desk.

A few area hotels that you might want to try include the following.  Please note that AACC does not have any formal room block or contract with any of the hotels listed below.  We are providing them as suggestions for potential lodging options, if available.

Host Hotel Reservations: The conference will be held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, 2500 Calvert Street, NW, Washington, DC.  A large block of sleeping rooms is available at the Omni Shoreham Hotel.  Reservations at the Omni can be made by calling 1-800-545-8700 or by using the link above for online reservations

If hotel reservations, are not made by September 25 (the cut-off date for guaranteed room reservations and special conference rate) you will be responsible for any difference in room costs above the conference rate. When you call the hotel, be sure to say that you are a part of the "ATE Conference." You will be required to provide a credit card to guarantee your room and cover any incidental fees accrued during your stay.

Overflow Hotel Reservations:  AACC has secured a small block of rooms at the Marriott Wardman Park, 2660 Woodley Road, NW, Washington, D.C.  Reservations can be made until Monday, September 28 by going to the link above or referencing the ATE Conference when calling 202-328-2000.

Hotel Costs: AACC will cover lodging expenses for designated participants: two rooms for projects, two rooms for centers, and five rooms per institution with more than two ATE grants for the nights of October 22 and 23. Conference participants with "Complimentary" registrations will have the cost of their hotel rooms for the nights of October 22 and 23 charged to the AACC master account. Incidental expenses are the responsibility of attendees.

AACC will assign these rooms to be covered on the master account following the September 25 reservation cut-off date. The cost of additional rooms (reserved by September 25) at the Omni Shoreham Hotel $244.00/single or double and will be billed to the individual.  The cost of additional rooms (reserved by October 7) at the Marriott Wardman Park is $254.00 per night.

Please note:  If you are to receive a complimentary hotel room for two nights, please double check that your room has been coded correctly upon hotel check-in.  If your room has not been properly coded to the master account, please report it to the conference registration desk so we can correct the billing prior to your check-out.

Travel:
All attendees are responsible for their own travel arrangements. The closest airport to the hotel is the Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA), which is accessible by the Washington Metrorail System. Other area airports include Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) or Washington Dulles International (IAD).

Ground Transportation and Directions from Reagan National Airport:

Metrorail system: Reagan National Airport is accessible to the Washington Metrorail System.  Participants should take the metro to Metro Center and transfer to the red line.  The Omni Shoreham is located one block from the Woodley Park Metro Station on the red line.  For further information on the metrorail system, please see www.wmata.com.

Shuttle Service: Super Shuttle, 1-800-BLUE-VAN. Fares from $14 each way. www.supershuttle.com

Taxi Service: One way fares to DC are approximately $25.

Directions from Reagan National Airport: Follow George Washington Pkwy. northbound to Wash. D.C.; follow past the Pentagon to the Memorial Bridge; while on the Bridge get into right lane and exit at Independence Ave.; follow Independence Ave. back under the Bridge along the Potomac River (this becomes Rock Creek Pkwy.); get into left lane; road splits after passing under Bridge, bear left; exit left at Calvert Street; turn left off ramp; hotel is located on the left.

Directions: Take the Dulles Airport Access Road to Route 66 East. Cross into DC on the Roosevelt Bridge onto Constitution Avenue. Take a left on 18th Street. Take a left on Connecticut Avenue. Go through the underpass at Dupont Circle. Cross the Taft Bridge. Take a left on Calvert Street. The Omni Hotel is one block up on the left.

Taxi Service: Airport Taxi Management, 410-859-1100. One way fares to DC are approximately, $80.

Directions: Take 1-95 South to I-495 West (Capital Beltway) toward Silver Spring (Exit 33). Take Connecticut Avenue South toward Washington, DC. Proceed 5 miles, passing the National Zoo on the left. Proceed 5 blocks and take a right onto Calvert Street. The Omni Hotel is one block up on the left.
