The multi-college Kern Community College District serves an area of approximately 24,800 square miles in parts of Kern, Tulare, Inyo, Mono, and San Bernardino Counties in California. Geographically one of the largest community college districts in the United States, the Kern District serves a population base of about 800,000 and an estimated enrollment of 24,000 (18,000 FTES) students with diverse religions, socioeconomic status, sexual orientations, abilities, and ethnicities. All three colleges are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
The Vice Chancellor, Educational Services, is a member of the District's Leadership Team with executive responsibility for overall leadership in planning, organizing, directing, reviewing, and evaluating district-wide instructional and student services programs. The Vice Chancellor provides the leadership, vision and administrative management for instructional programs and student services throughout the District. The Vice Chancellor is a member of the Chancellor's Cabinet and the District's Consultation Council.
-- Master's Degree from an accredited college/university.
-- Three years of experience in administration, which may include any of the following areas: (a) instructional programs, (b) student services, (c) educational policy analysis and development, or (d) communications/public relations.
-- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of community college students and employees.
Salary: $122,733 - $175,312 annually
