Job Description

VICE PRESIDENT OF INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT AND MIDLAND COLLEGE FOUNDATION EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Midland College Foundation Board members to meet the goals set for the various fundraising campaigns and to assist in facilitating other foundation projects and priorities
  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive plan for development that will help prioritize and enhance efforts to obtain external funding
  • Administer the Davidson Distinguished Lecture Series and the Phyllis and Bob Cowan Performing Art Series and related events
  • Seek external funding opportunities from public and private sources for college faculty, staff, and students
  • Establish contacts with and collect information from funding sources in both the public and private sectors
  •  Perform prospect research and maintain detailed constituent information about individuals, foundation, and business donors
  • Supervise and guide the Public Information Department and the Grants Development Specialist
  • Serve on the Administrative Council and President's Council
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the President

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • Master’s degree
  • Familiar with major college programs as well as the Midland College Foundation, corporations, private foundations, individuals, federal/state funding sources, and public relations
  • Working knowledge of Windows, WordPerfect 12 for Windows, Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Novell, GroupWise, Internet, and Raiser’s Edge
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Must have a valid Texas class “C” driver license and be insurable on Midland College auto insurance policy

PREFERRED

  • Doctorate degree
  • Community College fundraising experience

SALARY

Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.  Excellent fringe benefits. Position available immediately. Due to the possibility of a reduction in State appropriations, the College reserves the right to not fill the position.
