Job Description

The Assistant Director, Student Financial Aid is responsible to administer the financial aid program as developed by Butler Community College in full compliance with all Butler, federal and state regulations. Will be chief Financial Aid administrator at the Butler of Andover site, and will act as the Director in the Director’s absence. Responsible for the training regime of all Butler Financial Aid staff and other Enrollment Management staff as it relates to financial aid and how it is communicated to internal and external constituents. This position will also be the main contact person for financial aid presentations to the general public and serve as a liaison from the Financial Aid department to other departments on campus. Actively participate in professional organizations, become and remain current with regulations, and share that information with other Financial Aid staff as appropriate. Must possess the ability to work with and communicate clearly with students and parents and work effectively with personnel at state and federal levels. Must be able to read and interpret federal and state regulations and integrate those into Butler policies. The Assistant Director, Student Financial Aid must possess organizational skills applicable to detailed accounting and financial aid procedures necessary in the administration of Title IV programs. Experience with the Banner software system or similar product preferred. Prior experience in financial aid, student services or accounting/financial record keeping preferred. Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
