Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Vice President of Student Services, direct, develop, implement and administer assigned student programs, including student government, health services and serve as liaison to Grossmont Cuyamaca Community College District (GCCCD) Public Safety Office, the GCCCD Director of Employee and Labor Relations, Food Operations and oversee Cafe operations; train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel, responsible for ensuring the delivery of a prompt and equitable means to address violation of the Grossmont Cuyamaca Community College District (GCCCD) standards of Student Conduct, including the adjudication of student discipline hearings, and Flex Week presentations on GCCCD Student Code of Conduct Violations. 

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Any combination equivalent to: a Master's degree and three years increasingly responsible experience in an administrative or leadership capacity reasonably related to the administrator's administrative assignment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising the administration of student programs, including the overall functions of health services; student clubs and Organizations; leads, directs, and administers the Associated Students of Cuyamaca College (ASCC), Inc.

Communicate effectively with a wide variety of community college personnel and others, coordinate campus wide program activities, provide guidance and direction and assist in other program-related issues.

Responsible for working closely with GCCCD Public Safety staff during investigations for all crimes reported against persons and property on the Cuyamaca College Campus.

Responsible for coordinating and investigating all student-initiated sexual harassment complaints with the GCCCD Director of Employee and Labor Relations including fact finding and due diligence.

Responsible for planning, implementing, and delivering Flex Week presentations on GCCCD; Student Discipline Procedures, Disruptive Students in the Classroom, and Academic Dishonesty.

Facilitate communications and understanding of diverse perspectives among the faculty, staff, students, and community.

Plan, and develop the program goals and objectives; assure compliance with local, state, federal and district guidelines.

Supervise student activities to assure compliance with community college and related policies and procedures.

Responsible for promoting a "Quality of Campus Life" for students via meaningful campus events.

Supervise, monitor and review college discipline activities, student rights and due process, meet with and advise faculty on student discipline procedures, college hour functions, campus publicity and facilities use.

Responsible for facilitating student complaints and grievances in compliance with procedures for conflict resolution.

Responsible for the enforcement of the Student Code of Conduct through the Student Disciplinary Policy.

Responsible for Chairing the Formal Student Grievance Hearing Committee and the Student Affairs Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Serve as liaison to Food Services contractor operation for student and staff input to ensure District and College policies are upheld.

Prepare and administer budgets as assigned; monitor and approve expenditures as appropriate.

Select, recommend, train and evaluate assigned staff; supervise students and assigned certificated and classified personnel; provide guidance and work direction.

Plan, organize and direct the annual college-wide commencement ceremony, the annual ASCC, Inc. Scholarship and Service Awards. Administer the ASCC, Inc. Board Elections and Student Trustee Elections, and other campus-wide special events.

Responsible for travel and supervision of students at local, state, regional, and national Students Affairs and Student Government conferences.

Responsible for serving in an Administrative Advisory role to the ASCC, Inc. and the Inter-Club Council (ICC).

Attend program-related activities, meetings and conferences; chair and represent programs and organizations as necessary.

Prepare district, state and federally mandated reports.

Responsible for providing assistance and facilitating calendaring in conjunction with Campus Scheduling, Facilities, and Public Safety for campus facilities use.

Perform related duties as assigned. 

Preferred Qualifications:

SPECIAL SKILLS OR REQUIREMENTS:

In-depth knowledge of the Education Code, Title 5 and other administrative regulations and the ability to apply these regulations.

Ability to liaison effectively with GCCCD Public Safety staff to ensure overall safety for students faculty, staff, administration, and the campus community.

Ability to liaison effectively with the GCCCD Director of Employee and Labor Relations to ensure timely and accurate reporting of student-initiated sexual harassment complaints.

Ability to successfully delegate, ensure adherence to College and District policies, practices and procedures, hold others responsible yet instill confidence among the students, faculty and staff.

Ability to exercise academic leadership to advance the College's mission.

Ability to participate in the College planning process while participating in the achievement of the goals and priorities of the District as a whole.

Ability to work cooperatively and responsively with all segments of the College, District and community at large.

Ability to participate in the process, development, and achievement of the college vision, and communicate that to faculty and staff.

Ability to exercise academic leadership to advance the College's mission.
