Job Summary:

Provide dynamic leadership for a developing institution committed to diversity, access and student success.

Articulate a vision for the college that identifies emerging trends and embraces strategic planning and the effective use of evidence for decision making.

Engage faculty, staff, students and administrators in a collaborative governance process that engenders excellence, collegiality and mutual respect.

Advocate for high quality, innovative programs and services that respond to a changing workforce, community and the educational needs of our students.

Provide balanced management of scarce resources and leadership in pursuing alternative funding to enhance college programs and services.

Guide the college as it prepares for its accreditation review and works to integrate planning, budget and the assessment of institutional effectiveness.

Participate as a member of the District leadership team to help facilitate communication and understanding of policies, procedures and the overall District mission.

Establish a presence in the community that engages business, elected officials and community organizations as partners and advocates for the college.

Strengthen ties and increase partnerships with K-12 and higher education institutions to facilitate and improve student transitions.

Work to improve students' success in the college as measured by increased retention, persistence, certificates, degrees and transfers. 

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

A master's degree or higher, earned doctorate degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Five years or more of senior leadership and administration in higher education; community college experience is preferred.

Community involvement with a wide range of constituencies.

Teaching and/or counseling experience in higher education.

Significant prior responsibility for fiscal management and organizational planning at an institutional level.

Professional involvement including publications, presentations and memberships.
