POSITION TITLE: Director of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness
DEPARTMENT: Academic Affairs
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Director of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness is responsible for developing and directing planning, institutional research, data management, evaluation, assessments and program reviews. The Director manages a comprehensive institutional effectiveness program, strategic and annual planning components, student outcomes assessment, program review (academic and non-academic) and systems to evaluate effectiveness and continuous improvement. The Director supervises and manages the preparation and distribution of reports to meet local, state, regional and national requirements/directives and ensures SACs compliance. Duties to include but not limited to: coordinates all aspects of the college's Strategic Planning process; manages the information needed for the implementation of all internal and external planning, outcomes assessment, accountability, and research studies; coordinates a systematic and integrated institutional planning process that is aligned with SACS accreditation and other planning and accounting requirements as part of an institutional effectiveness program.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree in statistics, qualitative business analysis, educational research, or related field and seven (7) years of progressively responsible related managerial experience in a planning, research, or statistical setting to include supervision; or a Bachelor's degree in statistics or related field and ten (10) years supervisory or managerial experience in a planning, research or statistical setting. Earned doctorate is preferred. Knowledge of strategic and operational planning methods; research/statistical methods and techniques; data management operations in a higher education setting; working knowledge of computer applications in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software; and, management and leaderships skills. Programming experience in SQL, Crystal Reports, MS Excel (expert level) or MS Access (proficient level) is preferred. Unofficial college transcripts required when applying.
