Under the direction of the Vice-Chancellor, plan, develop, organize, coordinate, and evaluate institutional research and planning consistent with district mission, vision and values. Support and assist with the development, implementation, assessment, evaluation and continuous improvement of student learning and service outcomes, as well as other measures of student success. Participate in and evaluate the outcomes of the District Strategic Planning process. Identify, research, assess, evaluate and report on measures of institutional effectiveness. Train, schedule, assign, supervise, and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: Master's degree in educational research and planning or a field requiring expertise in statistical research, review, analysis, interpretation and reporting.
Three years of increasingly responsible experience in the collection, analysis and presentation of research data and organizational planning.
Three years of program or departmental management and leadership experience.
SPECIAL SKILLS OR REQUIREMENTS:
Research-based planning methods and models.
Application of environmental scans, focus groups, statistical analysis to planning.
Support development and maintenance of departmental/institutional/district strategic planning process.
Train multiple levels of staff in comprehensive, data-informed planning processes.
Attention to detail, follow-through.
RESEARCH & INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS
Accountability, accreditation, organizational systems and processes to improve quality and effectiveness.
Assessment methodology (reliability, validity, sensitivity, survey/questionnaire formation, item response theory, database analysis)
Design, coordinate, supervise, and implement research to provide information about the district, its students, and its programs.
Support program evaluation, outcome assessment, survey development.
Compile and verify data, maintain records, and prepare reports.
Read, interpret, and explain research and assessment findings.
Use technology and software including spreadsheet, presentation graphing, relational database management programs, survey software, SPSS.
Applicable laws and regulations.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
Oral and written communication skills; public speaking expertise.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Train, supervise, and evaluate personnel.
Work independently, meeting schedules and time lines.
