Carl Sandburg College is currently seeking applicants for the position of Vice President of Academic Services.
Carl Sandburg College, located in west central Illinois, is a comprehensive community college. The College offers pre-baccalaureate programs for students planning to transfer to a four-year university, occupational education, and adult education and literacy programs.

The Vice President of Academic Services serves as the chief academic officer of the College and is responsible to the President for the leadership and management of the academic program including all credit and non-credit instruction, allocation of instructional resources and implementation of academic policies and procedures.
The position supervises the Occupational, Allied Health, Adult and Developmental Education, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Math and Natural Sciences, Humanities and Performing Arts, Corporate and Community Education departments in the College and the Library.
Required Qualifi cations: Master’s Degree; Significant academic administrative experience; Teaching experience at the post secondary level, either full or part-time; Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing.
Desired Qualifications: An earned doctorate from an accredited institution of higher education; Administrative and/or teaching experiences that have been in a community college setting; Demonstrable experience with faculty development, general education, developmental programs, program and/or institutional accreditation, budget development and administration, strategic planning, collective bargaining agreements, and technologies which support a broad range of teaching and learning strategies; Full-time teaching experience at post-secondary level.
