The Heartland Community College Board of Trustees is currently seeking applicants and nominations for the position of Heartland Community College President.
About Heartland Community College
Heartland’s founding president, Jonathan Astroth is retiring after 18 years of exemplary service. Since 1991, Heartland Community College has served the residents in the heart of Illinois through its mission of access to higher education and excellence in teaching and learning. Bloomington-Normal, a vibrant, growing community, is located midway between Chicago and St. Louis and is the home of the main campus; Pontiac and Lincoln host additional Heartland sites.
The College’s permanent main campus opened in 2000. Currently, the College is constructing multiple facilities as part of its College Development Plan to meet the demand of increasing student enrollment and expanding programs. More than 5,200 students are currently enrolled in credit courses and approximately 12,000 students enroll in Continuing Education courses annually.
Applications and nominations will be accepted until the position is filled. The target date for applications is January 12, 2010.
