Lorain County Community College invites applications for the position of Dean of the Social Sciences and Human Services Division (SSHS). The Dean reports directly to the Provost/Vice President for Academic and Learner Services and serves as a member of the Administrative Leadership Team and Dean’s Council providing academic and administrative leadership for the Division.
SSHS off ers courses in 13 disciplines (Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Education, Geographic Information Systems, Geography, History, Human Services, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Social Work, Sociology, Teacher Education, and Urban Studies), six applied degree programs, children’s learning center programs and a police academy. SSHS, one of eight academic divisions, has progressive faculty focused on teaching excellence, student achievement and a myriad of programming in distance education.
Lorain County Community College (LCCC - www.lorainccc.edu), a dynamic comprehensive community college located 25 miles west of Cleveland, Ohio, near the shores of Lake Erie, serves more than 14,000 students. Qualifications: A minimum of a Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline(s) – one of the SSHS disciplines – is preferred; three years of college teaching experience (preferably at a community college); and three years demonstrated higher education leadership is required; the earned doctorate is also preferred.

The starting salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. An offer of employment is contingent upon available funds and is conditional, based on approval by the Lorain County Community College Board of Trustees.
