An exciting and challenging leadership opportunity exists at a comprehensive technical college located in a rural, developing area of South Carolina. The college serves Bamberg, Barnwell, and Allendale Counties.
The Presidential Search Committ ee for Denmark Technical College in Denmark, S.C., one of sixteen colleges in the South Carolina Technical College System, invites applications and nominations for the position of President, the chief executive offi cer of the college. Denmark Technical College is a full-time residential campus. Th e college off ers 30 programs leading to an associate degree, diploma, or certifi cate in the technical/occupational disciplines. Th e Associate in Arts and Associate in Science Degrees, transferable to baccalaureate programs, are also off ered. The fall 2008 student enrollment was approximately 2277. Denmark Technical College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Four academic programs hold national accreditation: Early Care and Education Associate Degree by the National Association for the Care of Young Children; Electromechanical Engineering Technology Associate Degree by the Accrediting Board for Engineering Technology; General Business Associate Degree by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs; and Cosmetology Diploma by the National Accreditation of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences. Th e college employs a full-time faculty and staff of 102.
-- A master’s degree is required; an earned doctorate is preferred.
-- Ten years of progressively responsible experiences in higher education administration.
-- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement innovative high quality technical/occupational educational programs.
-- Knowledge and understanding of the full range of student services including residential housing, health services, and campus police administration.
-- Evidence of operational skills in the areas of fi nance, budget development and administration.
-- Evidence of operational skills in the management of Title IV and Title III funding.
-- Extensive experience in, or knowledge of, industrial and economic development programs.
-- Sensitivity to the educational, economic and cultural needs of a diverse population.
-- Demonstrated ability to function eff ectively with boards and commission.
-- Evidence of the ability to establish and maintain positive relations with business, industry, the general public, civic and political organizations and other educational and governmental entities.
-- Candidates must be willing to reside in Denmark, South Carolina.
