Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL DUTIES:

Student Affairs Division
  • In consultation with the Vice President of Student Affairs, and the Student Affairs Leadership Team, work collaboratively to establish and implement a system of policy, program, and service review that ensures consistency with current, changing, and future needs of students and the community.
  • Make recommendations for improving student engagement and student development initiatives and programs.
  • Collaborate and support the development of goals and initiatives that fulfill the Student Affairs Strategic plan, and that align with the overall institutional strategic plan.
  • Participate with the Student Affairs Leadership Team to assist the Vice President with the planning and development of the annual comprehensive Student Affairs budget.
  • Participate with the Student Affairs Leadership Team in efforts associated with accountability, outcomes assessment, accreditation, and strategic planning.
  • Facilitate communication, and awareness of issues between the Vice President, staff within the service cluster, Associated Student Government, the Student Affairs Leadership Team, and other campus departments and divisions as needed.
  • Coordinate programming with other college departments and faculty to support college wide abilities, the college mission and to enhance program participation.
  • Serve on Student Affairs and campus committees, councils, and teams as directed by the Vice President, and the President.
  • Perform related duties as assigned or required.
 
Student Life & Leadership Service Cluster
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate employees in accordance with negotiated agreements, applicable state and federal laws and college policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage the budgets for departments reporting within the Student Life & Leadership service cluster.
  • Remain current on innovative Student Affairs programming and implement new ideas as appropriate.
  • Ensure that development of programs and initiatives provide variety and meet the needs of students in a culturally responsive environment through oversight and consultation with all service cluster leaders.
  • Ensure the proper management and use of student funds in accordance with policies and regulations.
  • Work with the athletic director to ensure a comprehensive program of intercollegiate athletics and intramural activities.
  • Provide oversight to Residence Life staff towards development of comprehensive programs and services that provide safe, quality living and learning environments for students, and develop a financial plan that ensures the long-term stability of housing for students.
  • Utilize data from assessment of outcomes to adjust programs and services to changing student needs.
  • In consultation with service cluster leaders, maintain, adjust, develop, and implement policies and procedures for operating units/departments.
  • Prepare reports and analytical materials to illustrate objectives, activities, and accomplishments of areas of responsibility.
  • Create a safe, bias-free working environment, which engenders respect for differences.
  • Perform related duties as assigned or required.
