The College is seeking a seasoned, dynamic, results-oriented, visionary leader for the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA). The VPAA will join a team of high-caliber professionals charged with leading Harford through a period of rejuvenation and rededication. The VPAA is responsible for the teaching and learning enterprise of the College, the health and well-being of the academic division, as well as the effective management of division resources. Academic Affairs includes all credit, continuing education, workforce, and online instruction; high school and college articulations and partnerships; the Library; the College radio station; and the University Center.
The Vice President for Academic Affairs serves as the Chief Academic Officer and reports directly to the President. This is an exempt administrator position.
The ideal candidate will have at least five and preferably seven years of increasingly responsible senior level administrative and supervisory experience. An earned doctorate and teaching experience in higher education are required. Full-time teaching experience and community college experience are preferred.

*demonstrated accomplishments in strengthening and expanding workforce development programs;
*proven track record of supporting faculty in developing pedagogies of engagement that support student learning and retention;
*experience developing a diverse, creative, multicultural environment;
*ability to develop and lead the Vice President’s staff of senior level administrators, faculty, and staff in implementing strategic initiatives in support of the College’s strategic plan;
*proven track record of effective budget and resource management linked to institutional and departmental planning and assessment;
*knowledge and experience with instructional technology, accreditation, and program learning outcomes assessment;
*experience with curriculum development and implementation and instructional planning, delivery, and design including condensed format, evening, weekend, hybrid, online, and credit for prior learning options;
*a commitment to the mission of the comprehensive community college;
*the ability to establish positive working partnerships with faculty, staff, other College departments, other colleges and K-12 systems, and business and industry partners;
*strong interpersonal skills and collegiality, including effectively fostering systems of shared governance.
