Job Description

The chief academic officer is responsible directly to the Chancellor for the planning, development, administration, supervision, and evaluation of the total college academic program. The Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs will provide leadership and supervision for all academic divisions, and other areas which may include the learning resource center, on-line education, library services, adult education, and serve as chief advisor to the Chancellor in the formation of policies affecting all academic programs. As the chief academic officer for the region, this individual has direct responsibility for the development, coordination, staffing, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement of academic programs, as well as research, academic/regional planning, and budgeting within the context of the College’s mission and purposes. The Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs also serves as an integral partner to the academic administration of the state-wide College; and, as a member of the Regional Academic Officers Council (RAOC), is accountable to perform certain statewide responsibilities to maintain a consistent statewide curricula, policies and practices.
