Arkansas State University-Beebe is seeking a Vice Chancellor of Academics. As a collaborative, energetic leader, the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong commitment to student success and faculty/staff development, and comfort with change, innovation, technology, and the use of data for decision making. As the Chancellor’s first delegate, the Vice Chancellor of Academics has the primary responsibility for the overall administration and promotion of academic excellence in the faculty and academic programs of the university including but not limited to instructional divisions, transfer programs, industry-relevant occupational and technical education, concurrent education, non-credit and corporate training, faculty development, library and college readiness initiatives, program development and review, institutional accreditation, assessment, and continuous quality improvement within Academics across the institution. Essential duties and responsibilities: -Develop and implement collaborative strategies to drive innovation within the instructional division, focusing on enrollment growth and student success including retention, persistence, and completion rates. -Effectively manage resources allocated to the instructional division and serve as the catalyst for seeking alternative/entrepreneurial sources of funding for instructional endeavors. Provide leadership, mentoring, and management of personnel within the Academics division including hiring, assignments, transfers, training, and development. Provide discipline and recommendation for termination, as needed, in accordance with established policy, process and practice. -Building on previous efforts, implement and maintain a systematic and regular program review process tied to short and long range planning and budgeting. -Facilitate assessment of student outcomes in Academics and ensure the results are used to improve the teaching and learning processes. -In cooperation with other divisions and departments, maintain appropriate data information and management systems for the instructional division, analyzing and disseminating the results as appropriate. -Coordinate and/or direct task forces and committees as necessary to provide effective and efficient management of the instructional division. -Participate in Higher Learning Commission (HLC) institutional accreditation and program accreditation processes. -Participate in ASU system and state organizations (ADHE, ACC, DoE) meetings and activities. -Actively engage business and industry partners to advance programmatic outcomes. Actively participate in community, legislative, and public activities as necessary to promote and support the institutional mission. -Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: -Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution -Five years of progressive management experience in academics -Five years of college-teaching experience -Demonstrated track record of leadership -Experience in assessment and accreditation processes -Excellent interpersonal and communication skills -Demonstrated comfort with change, innovation, and technology -Demonstrated commitment to the two-year/community college mission A comprehensive benefit package is included, salary is commensurate with experience.
