The Walla Walla Community College Board of Trustees has begun the search for its fourth President and invites nominations and applications from individuals who will provide exceptional and distinguished leadership. Following the highly successful tenure of Dr. Steven VanAusdle, who will retire at the conclusion of the 2015-2016 academic year having served for 45 years, 31 in the role of President, Walla Walla Community College is positioned to continue its standing as one of the top community colleges in the nation. It is anticipated that the President will begin duties during the summer of 2016.
A 2013 recipient of the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) prides itself on being a catalyst that changes students' lives and is committed to meeting the diverse educational and training needs of the communities it serves, providing students with access and numerous pathways to success. WWCC offers 53 degree and 64 certificate programs to approximately 10,400 students at four sites: the Walla Walla Campus, The Clarkston Center, the Washington State Penitentiary (Walla Walla), and Coyote Ridge Corrections Center (Connell). WWCC has a robust academic transfer degree program and is widely recognized for aligning its workforce education programs with current and emerging economic needs of the region.
