The Board of Trustees invites nominations and applications for the chief executive offi cer position at Quinebaug Valley Community College, Danielson, one of the twelve colleges within the Connecticut system of two-year, comprehensive community colleges. Established in 1971 as a result of a community initiative to expand the opportunity for higher education in northeastern Connecticut, Quinebaug Valley Community College has grown from the 251 students in its fi rst class to serve nearly 2,000 students each year in credit programs and a nearly equivalent number in non-credit, workforce or personal development courses. The College has enjoyed exceptional growth to become a key educational resource in the region and throughout the state. Partnerships with area businesses, industries, colleges and universities, and community organizations have made Quinebaug Valley a dynamic force in workforce and economic development throughout northeastern Connecticut.

Quinebaug Valley is well known for its liberal arts, career, and transfer programs, its collegial relationships with neighboring institutions including the University of Connecticut and Eastern Connecticut State University, and for its Willimantic Center which offers the opportunity for higher education to the residents of the region’s largest urban center. The College’s 68-acre campus in Danielson boasts state-of-theart classrooms and laboratories and a new Middle College High School developed in collaboration with the towns of its service region.

The Trustees are most interested in candidates with a strong record of academic and administrative leadership to continue the College’s notable record of educational excellence and innovation achieved and guided by the long-term leadership of its president who has recently retired after more than 30 years of service to the Connecticut

Community Colleges. A doctoral degree as well as a successful record in the areas of resource development, community involvement, and constituent relations will be preferred. Position announcements may be obtained from, and letters of application addressed to:
