Butler Community College, the second largest, multi-campus community college in Kansas seeks an innovative and visionary leader who will be an engaged and collaborative team member. With more than 12,000 students, Butler Community College’s next Vice President of Academics must be a learning-centered leader committed to preparing our students to be principled, productive individuals in the workforce and community. Working within the framework of the College’s Strategic Plan and its Timeless Institutional Values of quality, integrity, service, and caring, Butler’s Vice President of Academics will generate vision, engage colleagues, encourage faculty development, and support exceptional student learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom. The Vice President of Academics is responsible for six academic divisions, a comprehensive student outcomes assessment program, a vigorous program review process, online learning, curriculum development, Early College Academies, industry-relevant career/technical education advancement, Library Services, and faculty development. This individual will also serve as a member of the senior management team which oversees the College’s strategic planning, resource allocation, financial sustainability, and academic excellence expectations. Development of and support for dynamic business and industry partners will be important as well as service to our communities. Required knowledge and skills of the successful candidate include: Minimum of three years successful post-secondary teaching experience; demonstrated progressive administrative experience; master’s degree in a relevant discipline; strategic planning and budget development experience; evidence of exceptional interpersonal skills; and an unwavering commitment to the community college mission. Preferred experience includes a doctorate in a relevant discipline, community college teaching experience and community college administrative experience. Salary will be commensurate with education and experiences with a range from $79,386-$119,080. Full fringe benefits are offered.
